I didn't have any sage on hand so I used rosemary instead. I also used half bread flour and half whole wheat flour. I won first place in our local fair. This recipe is a definite keeper!

I used only whole wheat flour, changed the caraway seeds to fennel seeds, used a fresh chopped onion instead of the dried kind, and loved the bread!

This bread is AWESOME !!!!!! I pulled it out of the oven 10 minutes ago, and the loaf is almost gone. Outside crust is nice and crunchy and the inside is amazingly soft. Perfectly moist, and superb flavor.
