As a mother of 5, I need to cook in bulk. I make these "Toad in a Hole" as we call them, all the time. I usually use a loaf of bread and a dozen and a half or so eggs. I make them all first, keeping them warm, then call the crew to breakfast. Otherwise, I can't keep up with the demand. I have also added pre-cooked and crumbled Hormel bacon, I'll take any short cuts I can. Great recipe....one that will live on forever. FYI...these eggs have even been on the "big screen". In the movie Moonstruck, Cher's mother in the movie, sorry, her character name escapes me, is making them one morning. Check it out.
