Original Recipe Yield 1 pie
 

Ingredients

  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, and salt. Mix well and gradually pour in water, stirring until mixture is creamy. Pour mixture into pastry shell and sprinkle with nutmeg.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes, until edges are very bubbly.
