I used this recipe and the reviews i read as a base and added/made changes to my liking. after the changes, the stuffed peppers tasted AMAZING! I cut the recipe in half, here are my changes - I used brown rice (which i precooked separately in chicken broth for more flavor) ground turkey instead of beef, and half a can diced tomatoes with Italian seasoning. i omitted the W sauce cause i didnt have any. I cooked the beef with the onions and garlic, then i seasoned the mixture with a dash of garlic powder,dried basil,seasoning salt,pepper. I then added the tomatoes and also a tablespoon of ketchup (from another review). i opened the tomato soup and mixed it with some milk to make a more creamy sauce and also added some seasoning to that (dried parsley,garlic powder,dried minced onions)and put a few heaping spoonfuls of the "sauce" into the beef. then i added the cooked rice and added a small bunch of fresh chopped cilantro (this REALLY added to the dish!!!) I then added italian cheese instead of cheddar, layered half a slice of pepper jack cheese on the bottom of the green peppers and then added the mixture. topped off with more sauce and cheese and a sprinkle of bread crumbs. THIS DISH BLEW OUR MIND! we LOVED IT! and it was so filling and delicious.. will be making again. i know i made lots of changes, but thank you so much for the base recipe!
