Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 5)

I Am not vegan and personally cannot stand the idea of not eating meat. A lady I have been courting is vegetarian though, so I made this smoothie for her with a few tweaks. I added some protein powder And a couple of extra dashes of worcheshire sauce. This bimbo couldn't even taste the sauce! Now for the good part...I was rewarded handsomely for making her a smoothie and now she said she would like one every time she comes over. Far be it from me to refuse a lady the protein that gives her the energy to keep up with me...passionately. Now, for those of you who are looking for a sure fire way to get your woman in the mood...cook up a batch of cheese sauce and a big ol blender of these tasty, frosty smoothies. Run and get what you need...now!

It was good, but tastes much better with a cup of whole milk instead of soy milk.

We make this all the time. You really don't need the added sugar. If you're worried about the oatmeal, add it to the blender first and give it a good whirl. Sometimes we toss in some protein powder and then use water for the liquid. We also add a good amount of ice.

This recipe is truly a 5 star recipe! I omit the bananas just because I don't care for them and used fat free milk instead of soy because that is what I had on hand. I got my whole family including my 2 year old addicted to these! They are great for breakfast or just an afternoon snack and are actually really filling!

I took some of the other reviewer's hints and added less oats - about 1/4 cup. I also used vanilla soy milk so I skipped the vanilla extract. I added a few extra strawberries and a handful of raspberries and left out the sugar.. even without the sugar it was sweet and delicious. Because of all the modifications I had to make, I only gave it 4 stars but it really is a great recipe that you can easily tailor to fit your tastes!

Surprising - I didn't think that raw oats would work - it did. I blended the oats first to get a fairly fine flour used a squeeze of honey, vanilla soymilk, and blueberries. Nice way to get some morning fiber (I hate eating cereal) with fruit.

I loved this recipe..although I did use agave instead of sugar and I added some flax seed..I found my Vitamix broke down both the flax seed and the oatmeal just fine...tasted great..will make again.

LOVE! Don't limit yourself with this instead of strawberries, try frozen chunks of mango, peach, or mixed berries.
