Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 11)

I am not a smoothie fan in general, so I am giving this 3 stars instead of 2 as I would like to. Like others said, I processed the oatmeal first before adding the other ingredients, but I didn't like the oatmeal in it at all. I frequently found myself picking out small bits of oatmeal from my teeth. I also didn't add the banana because it was already way too thick with just the strawberries. After tasting it, I found it to need more sugar, so I added orange juice to thin it and sweeten it. My son liked it okay, but I doubt I will ever make this again without more major adjustments.

Great smoothie, I just made one serving and sort of eyeballed ingredients. Instead of sugar I added honey to my desired sweetness. Great to get you oats, fruit, calcium and potassium all in one glass.

Well, the flavor / texture of the oats seemed to overpower and get in the way of the fruit smoothie. I really wanted to try it, though, cause I like the idea of adding such a nutritious ingredient to a regular smoothie a lot. Could there be a different way to prepare the oats so that it would blend in more naturally?

This was awesome. The oats add a thickness that almost makes it seem like an icecream shake. Based on other reviews, I did cut down the amount of rolled oats I used in this recipe.

Delicious! Also good without the sugar if the strawberries are ripe

This was really yummy. Next time I will soak the oatmeal in the milk for a few minutes before mixing it and then adding the other ingredients. I didn't like the texture of the ground oatmeal but love the idea of having it in the smoothie for extra protein.

This is a fresh, yummy, and filling smoothie. I made it according to the directions except I used regular milk instead of soy. Next time I will probably use vanilla yogert instead of adding the sugar and vanilla extract. Great recipe though. Will definitely be having it again soon!

This was really enjoyable. I made mine with skim milk (that's what we had) and I used splenda in place of the sugar. Everything worked out great. The best part was when my 3 year old tried it not only did she love it! She thought it was icecream! Woohoo! Healthy homemade icecream! Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Nutritious and delicious!! Just one tip: If you have allergies to soy milk (or just don't like it), you can substitute Almond Milk (my absolute favorite!) and it is super delicious. Thanks so much for this recipe!!

This was good and filling! I added 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed and halved the strawberries and added 1 cup frozen blueberries. Omited the vanilla, since I used vanilla soy milk, and omitted the sugar to be healthier. Very good and will make again!
