Excellent! Used a can of fire roasted tomatoes, substituted the bay leaf for 1/4 tsp of thyme and sauted some garlic before adding the onions and peppers. Also, added some kielbasa to the onions and peppers. Delicious!

We all enjoyed this. I used closer to 2 pounds of beans to use up what I had on hand. I was out of Whole Cloves so just threw a pinch of ground in and was perfect. Great side for Spanish chicken and rice. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not a big green bean fan but we had some fresh string beans and didn't want to sautee them so I tried this. It was delicious enough for me to get seconds. I went easy on the cloves though. Otherwise, a nice variation!

We added some vegetarian sausage to this, and everyone loved it. It's mildly sweet, with a great flavor from the cloves. I'd be happy to make it again. One warning, however: the string beans took twenty minutes to cook. I would advise steaming them instead.
