Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  2. Combine melted butter, Italian seasoning, olive oil, and kosher salt in a large bowl; add bread cubes and toss to coat. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the bread cubes; toss to coat. Spread onto a baking sheet.
  3. Bake in preheated oven, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, about 20 minutes.

Excellent. I've been making my own croutons from day-old bread for awhile. When I see a loaf of sourdough on the mark-down shelf, I bring it home and make croutons. Seasonings here are spot-on. And...butter is best but I sometimes use half butter and half olive oil to cut the cholesterol.

These croutons were Super easy peasy! I had gotten a loaf of garlic sourdough bread for some other recipe and was wondering what to do with the rest, well I found this in my RB and Ta Da, salad crunchy yumminess! Try this yourself, you won't be sorry you did! Thank you DebbyJean:) Keeper no doubt!

This works well with making garlic bread, also...YUM!

Love this great recipe! Only problem I had was how much is 6 slices bread? Size of bread varies, as well as size of slice. But it didn't stop me from making these wonderful croutons.
