These turned out almost absolutely perfect! The ONLY down side was that there was TOO MUCH SALT. Next time half of a teaspoon will be enough. I mixed the sugar crystals with real sugar, and it allowed me to use less crystals and looked fine! Other than that, I just followed the recipe - no modifications. The biggest tip I can give is this: when you are creaming the butter, shortening, and sugar, MAKE SURE YOU GET IT VERY, VERY FLUFFY! It makes a big difference. This is my new favorite sugar cookie recipe! I love the effect that the shortening AND butter have on the cookies!
