These were ok. There WERE very soft and the sugar coating gave a crunch. I was looking for more of a soft and CHEWY cookie, though. When rolling these into balls and leaving them in balls when baking, the cookies didn't spread in the oven as much as I'd like. Easy solution is to just flatten it down a bit with your fingers or palm. Simple sugar cookie. Good but not the best I've tried.

I am not much of a baker, but these came out great the first time! Used only half the amount of salt.I love these cookies,thanks for the wonderful recipe.

Very easy and very good! I pressed them part way down with the palm of my hand and they turned out perfect! My husband loves them with just the sugar on top, but I prefer a light powdered sugar glaze on top of mine. We are taken back to our childhood days with these cookies. His grandma didn't ice hers, and mine did! They are perfect either way! Followed the recipe to a T!

It was okay...not the best cookie ever. Sad to say, Betty Crocker's from the package taste better. They were not really "soft"..it had a crunch to it..only the middle was somewhat soft.

YUM! My whole family loved it. We didn't measure out the salt, just put a dash in, but that's only because I rarely cook with salt. We live at altitude and I didn't adjust anything in the recipe. Cookies were so easy to make, came out wonderfully soft, and were gone in no time! Thanks!!
