I used top round steak because it's what I had. I seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic powder and a little ground ginger before browning. I added minced garlic to the crockpot. Didn't have beef bouillon so I used Gravy Master instead. Substituted red and orange peppers (personal preference) and brown sugar for the white. I also omitted the extra salt and used low sodium soy sauce. Added the peppers in the last hour as suggested. They would have turned to mush otherwise. Cooks thoroughly on low in 6-7 hours. Meat was fork tender. Served over brown rice. Everyone liked it! Leftovers make a yummy pita sandwich too.
