Sloppy Joes II Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 6)

Very easy, very good and should be made as is. I understand to add this and add that and make these huge changes then when done give glaring reviews of how great a recipe is. What I like to do is make most of these recipes as is the first time. This allows for an honest to goodness fair review of the actual recipe. This is one recipe that I really really like as is. I have made it multiple times since I have two little kids. Ive changed it some before to no avail with little ones tastes.

I haven't had sloppy joes in years, and I'm glad I started with this recipe. It is easy to make, and you change the recipe according to your own tastes. I made 1 1/2 times the sauce recipe and it was perfect. I also add 1/2 cup of Sweet Baby Rays barbecue sauce and simmered 20 min. Next time I will leave out the sugar it doesn't need it.

This is our fave recipe for sloppy joes. I like my joes more soupy so I add a 14 oz can of diced tomatoes. I swipe out the green pepper for 2 cups of diced celery. I also add a tablespoon of white balsamic vinegar. It adds another level of flavor but it does not taste vinegary at all. I do this to cut the sweet flavor of the brown sugar. I brown hamburger buns in butter. Yummy

I added a splash of worcestershire, a drizzle of molasses, and 1/3 cup of BBQ sauce and no sugar. used 1 full cup of ketchup & a splash of apple cider vinegar for tang, fantastic.

I have never left a review before, but I HAD to for this dish! It was absolutely perfect and delectable. I doubled the dish so my boyfriend and I could have leftovers and there were barely any left for that! I didn't add the green peppers just because I'm not a fan but other than that I didn't change a thing and it was delicious!

I tried for years to make my mom's sloppy joes. This one tastes just like mom's used to when I was growing up! I use orange and yellow peppers instead... just a personal preference. It's the only recipe I use.
