Original Recipe Yield 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pint shucked oysters
  • 8 ounces saltine crackers, crushed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 2 quart baking dish and set aside.
  2. Place oysters and their liquid in a 4 quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat until oysters curl around the edges. Remove from heat and set aside.
