used this recipe for the first time and the aroma is amazing! used butter instead of oil and rubbed it all over and decided to stuff the cavity with bay leaf, onions, carrots, potatoes and celery. baked it for 1 hour with loose foil and the next 2 1/2 hours with out the foil. I hope it comes out as good as it smells cause it still baking...

Really good! I added extra sage, mixed with 1/4 cup butter and rubbed it all under and over the skin. Delicious!!

This recipe made me a Christmas hero. It was delicious and looked beautiful too. I squeezed some bacon grease off of the paper towel from breakfast and rubbed that on the turkey and also added thyme to the spice rub.

I made this turkey for Thanksgiving and it was fantastic! Everybody raved about how delicious it was! The only thing I did different was brine the turkey for 24 hours before roasting it. I used the out of this world turkey brine recipe from this site. It was so moist and delicious! I had several requests for the recipe and when I told them it came from allrecipes I was told I HAD to review it and tell how wonderful it was! This is a keeper! :)

Great recipe. I used butter instead of oil and lots of fresh sage. Best turkey I've ever had.

I have been using this recipes for several years now and it is great BUT to make it even better, Prepare the turkey the day before Thanksgiving as the recipe states and add some butter too. cover with foil and put in the fridge. Thanksgiving morning put it in the stove straight from the fridge. IT taste wonderful and it helps with preparation.
