Directions

  1. Blend together softened PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese and cream of coconut until smooth and creamy. Add dry pudding mix and beat until well blended.
  2. Add 1/2 thawed, but cold, coconut. Mix well. Fold in 1 tub COOL WHIP.
  3. Pour 1/2 of pudding mixture into the OREO Pie Crust. Drizzle with hard-shell chocolate ice cream topping, if desired. Pour second half of pudding mixture over pie.
  4. Mix 3/4 cup of toasted coconut with remaining tub of COOL WHIP and spread or pipe on pie.
  5. Finish pie by garnishing with mini chocolate coated coconut and almond candy bars. Sprinkle remaining toasted coconut on pie.
  6. Place in freezer 30 minutes to set or refrigerate for 45 minutes. Slice and enjoy!

  • How to Toast Coconut: Toast coconut on plate in microwave until evenly browned. Stir often to prevent burning. WATCH CLOSELY. If you wish to use the coconut without toasting, that is also acceptable.

I'm not reviewing, I'm just clarifying: the recipe calls for cheesecake flavored pudding, but the description says chocolate is used. Which one? This sounds soooo delicious, but I don't want to make it wrong. :)

I understand what you mean Piper..it CLEARLY states chocolate pudding in the description!!! PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese and coconut are blended with (((Instant Chocolate Pudding)))) and topped with yummy chocolate coconut candy bars. "

Wow, wow, wow!!!! This should be called "Paradise in Your Mouth"!! Really, if you like coconut, this is the treat for you. I used Vanilla flavor pudding, used melted chocolate chips to drizzle between layers and on top (with toasted coconut), and made my own crust using Nila wafers, coconut, and butter. And oh, like another reviewer, I also used regular flaked coconut, which I put in the fridge while I was working on the crust. I mean, really, how can you go wrong with anything with cream of coconut in the ingredients?!!

Rather decadent. Will make again, though I'll likely use real whipped cream next time instead of Cool Whip.
