Directions

  1. Place nuts in a gallon size Glad-Lock® Zipper™ storage bag; add syrup and coat well. Sprinkle brown sugar and seasoning & salad dressing mix over nuts. Coat well. Spread nuts in a single layer on greased baking pan. Bake at 250 degrees F for 35 minutes. Transfer immediately to large bowl. Cool, stirring to separate.

These are good. I didn't add the whole packet of ranch dressing because I thought it would be too salty...it wasn't. Next time I'll add the whole packet. Good flavor! UPDATE: They taste really good if you save a bit of the ranch powder and mix the nuts into it after they've cooked. It punches up the ranch flavor. I also cut back on the maple syrup.

It's hard to mess up something as yummy as roasted pecans, but this is sickly sweet, with a strange aftertaste from the ranch dressing.

The recipe is good, but was a bit strong in flavor to suit our tastes. We modified it by using 2 lb. of nuts instead of 1 lb. Not as strong of a flavor and not so "sickly sweet". We preferred Uncle Dans Original Ranch Dressing instead of Hidden Valley. Five star after modifications.

We enjoy this recipe. I modified it. 5 lbs pf roasted salted assorted nuts, 1/2 c maple syrup - coat nuts, 4 pks ranch dressing, 1 T brown sugar - coat nuts. Use parchment paper on cookie sheet. Single layer of nuts. Bake at 225° for 1 1/2 hrs. Cool to room temp. Package for holiday gifts
