I found it very ordinary and not very interesting. I had some okra which is why I made it. I didn't have any smoked sausage and was too lazy to go and buy some. I don't think it would have helped it very much. I have erased it from my recipe list.

Too little okra for my tastes, I added the rest of the package of frozen okra. I tried the amount called for and wasn't happy with the results. Other than that it was fine. I raise my own rabbits and this a family favorite way to eat them now. Per the first reviewer, I did some research, and Roux is one of three thickeners for gumbo, File' powder, and Okra being the others. Okra and File' are seldom used in conjunction, but Roux can be used in conjunction with either or on its own, but is not a requirement, except for Cajun style which has an exceptionally dark Roux.

Haven't tried it yet, but i bet its good. Just wanted to tell you that's a rabbit and gravy, not a gumbo,even though you have okra in it , without the roux it's still just a gravy. One of my favorite dishes to eat,I love rabbit!
