Directions

  1. Stir milk, sugar, and cornstarch together in a saucepan; stirring continually, bring to a boil. Add cocoa powder, chopped chocolate, cinnamon, and whiskey to the milk mixture; cook and stir until thick, about 5 minutes. Pour into a casserole or baking dish.
  2. Refrigerate until cold.

Made recipe as written (minus the optional whiskey but with vanilla extract instead), it looked beautiful when poured into ramekins but after chilling it has turned into something not pudding like. It was very firm/thick. I did like the flavor of cinnamon with the chocolate. The consistency turned us off though. A bit of butter at the end may help that issue.

This is a great recipe, perfect as is. I added orange essence instead of cinnamon and a tsp of sherry instead of whiskey.

This is the WORST pudding recipe ever. First - adding cocoa after reaching boiling point will cause the cocoa to lump so your pudding will not be smooth. Second this is way to much cornstarch. The end result is a pudding so thick you could slice it. Whisky and cinnamon- that is up to you. But 2 essential pudding ingredients are missing- salt and butter. You will regret following this recipie.

Does adding the whiskey to it make it alcholic? Like is it still OK for children to eat or should I leave it out if kids will be eating it?
