"This is a recipe I came up with when I was helping to raise 6 kids. Every penny counted. You can add onions if desired."

1 (12 ounce) package
Greek seasoning (such as Cavender's®)
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (16 ounce) package
sliced fresh mushrooms
I did add one large onion and a tablespoon of worchestershire sauce. This was a little thick, I did add a little canned milk to thin it out just a touch. Very rich, very good. NO LEFTOVERS. This reminds me of something similar Mom made for me when I was growing up.
I've seen many recipes for "ground beef" stroganoff over the years, but this is the first time I've made one. I was surprised at the first reviewer's comment that it was thick, because the one thing that I didn't like was that the sour cream totally liquified once combined with the meat. The dish had zero eye appeal because of the watery texture. The Greek seasoning was a nice addition, but overall, this stroganoff was a disappointment. In all fairness, it could be that I wouldn't like any ground beef stroganoff, so moving forward, I'll stick with the real deal version. Sorry olderguy for the less than favorable review.
