Pinto beans are the surprise ingredient in this gooey sweet pie that 's like a pecan pie. The beans are combined with chopped nuts, lots of brown and white sugars, eggs and butter. This yummy filling is then poured into an unbaked pie shell and baked until the filling is set and the crust golden. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla yogurt.

Buttermilk, sugar, eggs, baking mix, butter and vanilla are beaten together until smooth, poured into a 9-inch pie pan, and baked. It makes a lovely nest for fresh fruit and a dollop of freshly whipped cream.

Like a pumpkin pie, only with big and beautiful butter beans, this pie is delicious. The beans are cooked, mashed and seasoned with nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Then they 're combined with flour, lots of sugar, a few eggs, butter, and vanilla, and poured into an unbaked pie shell and baked.

Although this unusual recipe calls for navy beans, your guests will not be able to tell. Cooked beans are pureed and dolled up with evaporated milk, lots of sugar, and a heap of spices -cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves. This sweet and spicy filling is then poured into a pie shell and baked. Serve with whipped cream and a sprinkling of candied ginger.
