Pineapple Cookies I

Original Recipe Yield 3 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Mix all ingredients in the order given. Drop by tablespoonful onto cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes until brown.
