Original Recipe Yield 3 cups sauce
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup tamari
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, cut into thin strips

Directions

  1. In a saute pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, and saute until tender. Add garlic, jalapeno pepper, and ginger; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in peanut butter, water, tamari, and honey until smooth. Add shredded basil. Heat through, and remove from heat.
