Made it tonight and am surprised at how well it turned out. Thanks to all the other reviewers for the tips and encouraging me to make my first pie!
Here's what I did differently and it still turned out fantastic:
- 50% less sugar (only had white sugar. I generally believe that desserts are way too sweet.)
- no lemon used (forgot)
- no flour flower used (outside of the pre made pie crust from Trader Joe's)
- mixed fresh peaches and apples (peeled and cut)
- used vegan butter much less than the recipe called for
Despite cutting down on butter, sugar, and flour, it still came out very rich and not too sweet. It tastes so good, now I need to get it out of the house I don't eat it all. Also, I made the crumble from the left over pie crust, just put more cinnamon and sugar and baked it separately in the oven, and added it to the pie after it was done baking.
