Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 (3 ounce) package fruit flavored gelatin mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, gelatin, eggs and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients.
  3. Roll dough into 3/4 inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
