Overnight Fruit Salad Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 1)

If I made this again, I'd definitely double the egg-vinegar mixture. It was undetectable in the finished salad. I think I'd use lemon juice, too, instead of vinegar, though the vinegar mixture was good. I did use Cool Whip instead of real whipped cream, and that might have made a difference. Doubling the egg mixture and using real whipped cream might give it possibilities?? The flavor was good, just not anything much more than the Cool Whip flavor over the fruit. Update: I did make this again and doubled the egg mixture, used lemon juice, and again used Cool Whip. This time it came out really delicious. It might be one of my "go to" salads now. I used to make a similar recipe using sour cream as the "dressing", which is really good, too. But I think this is better. Am giving it five stars with the changes, though I guess you're not suppose to do that??

This is the only fruit salad my family makes! It does take a bit of effort, but I consider it well worth it. Every time I take it anywhere, there is never any left over! We always add strawberries to it. I believe it is twice as good with the strawberries!

This was a winner at my last get-together. I'm making it again today for another! The only thing I would do differently is add the bananas just before it's going to be served. I also used Cool Whip and it worked well. It was easier since I was transporting the dish. Excellent compliment to a Summer party!

I do not know how anyone could give this recipe any less then a 5 star unless they messed it up. This is the best fruit salad we have ever had. I used red wine vinegar and put almost a whole jar of cherries in it but other then that I followed it to a T and it is amazing!!! Thank you so much Eileen for being so persistent at getting this recipe and thanks so much for being generous enough to share it. It is now a family recipe we will pass down. God Bless.

Well this was great, wasn't sure if the whipping cream was to be sweetened or not. I didn't figuring the marshamallows were sweet enough. I was looking for Ambrosia, but this fit the ticket for our Christmas Dinner

I made this for Thanksgiving. I thought it was attractive enough, but it was the one dish nobody touched. I put a good bit of effort into it and I hated that no one went for it. My husband finaly ate a bite and he didn't care too much for it. I didn't really like nor dislike it.
