I made this exactly as written and loved it! I would give it 5 stars, but my husband felt it was just okay ("I didn't DISLIKE it ..."). I think he was expecting French Toast as he is used to it. I made the full recipe, and doubled the sauce, so I'll be freezing it in individual portions. Next time (if I do make it again) I would probably just mix up the ingredients in a big bowl and pour them already combined into the baking dish. Much simpler than the layering, and I think it would work just as well. Also, be sure to grease your pan VERY well. I did, and it still stuck to the bottom. Would probably use parchment next time ...
