Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped dates

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine oats, flour, baking, soda, salt and cinnamon; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in raisins, walnuts, coconut and dates. Roll into 1-1/2-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 325 degrees F for 14-16 minutes or until edges are firm. Remove to wire racks to cool.
