Mom's Best Peanut Brittle Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 12)

My daughter and I made this for the first time, to ever attempt peanut brittle. We found the first batch disappointing. We used all white sugar & added clear vanilla flavoring. The batch was clear, no coloring. The second batch, we added 1/2 brown sugar, dark vanilla and included the roasted nuts at 250 degrees to enhance the flavor of the nuts. Perfect and we completed 10 batches. Thanks for getting us started.

Loved it! This was one of the best recipes I have tried. I've made several batches and each and everyone turned out spectacular. A classic recipe because of the butter at the end. Highly recommend.

Just made it for first time. It was fun but mine tastes a little burnt. It's also a very dark golden brown. What did I do wrong.

Thank you so much! I have tried other recipes and have failed on all! This one was perfect. I turned up the heat in Incraments until I reached 310. 310 becauses is seemed a little crispier but I have to say the humidity was high this day! Thank you! I am proud to share it with my mother!!

Delicious!!! After reading ALL the reviews I too added the vanilla to it and the flavor is amazing. This is better than any store bought I have had. I will be making tons for Christmas gifts this year; thank you for sharing. Do yourself a favor and buy a candy thermometer; I got mine at Wally world for 3.50, a small price for something so easy and delicious and it is well worth the small price.

I used roasted pumpkin seeds instead of peanuts ( due to allergys in classroom) and added 1 tsp vanilla to the water. This worked great! YUM!!
