Soda crackers masquerade as apples in this tasty pie. The crackers are broken into pieces and piled into an unbaked pie shell. A sweet hot syrup is poured on top, the second crust is added, and the pie is popped into the oven to bake.

The 'apples' in this pie are Ritz crackers. They're arranged in the bottom of a pie shell, and topped with a lemony sweet syrup. The top crust is popped on and the pie baked until golden.

I remember my mother baking this when I was young. She kept my dad guessing for awhile on this one. A good stand-in for the real thing.

This terrific recipe makes seven quarts of apple pie filling, which will come in handy as delicious gifts for friends and family. A sugary and spicy syrup is cooked up and poured over sliced apples that are tightly packed into sterilized jars. Then the jars are cooled, and stored until it 's gift-giving time.

Diced apples are stirred into a mixture of sour cream, nutmeg, sugar, flour and egg. This chunky filling is then poured into a prepared crust and baked. While still warm, it 's topped with a crumble made of cinnamon, sugar and butter, and then it 's baked until the topping is melted and glazed over the pie. Cool and serve this luscious pie with vanilla ice cream.
