Original Recipe Yield 12 cups

Ingredients

3 cups Corn Chex® cereal
3 cups Chocolate Chex® cereal
2 cups Cinnamon Chex® cereal
1 cup whole cashews
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 teaspoons ground ancho chile pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup dark chocolate chips

Directions

In large microwaveable bowl, mix cereals and cashews.
In 2-cup microwaveable measuring cup, microwave brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, chili and red pepper uncovered on high about 1 1/2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
Microwave uncovered on high 5 to 6 minutes, stirring after every minute. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool. Break into bite-size pieces; stir in chocolate chips. Store in airtight container.
