Made as is, but oops, forgot the oil, so the garlic didn't really come through. Let it sit overnight in fridge. DH grilled it to med-rare and let it rest for 10 minutes, as we always do with flank steak to seal in the juices. Very tender and juicy. I'm docking 1 star because the predominant flavor was the soy sauce. I'll cut that in half next time. Leftover bits were gobbled from the cutting board during clean-up. That's a sure sign of a winning steak at my house! Thanks for the recipe.
