Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Mix self-rising flour and sugar in a bowl. Stir milk into the flour mixture.
  3. Pour melted butter in an oven-safe bowl. Pour flour mixture over melted butter. Layer peaches in heavy syrup atop flour mixture. Do not stir!
  4. Bake in preheated oven until peaches are bubbly and crust is lightly browned, 50 to 60 minutes.

There is 1 thing I did different in the end and that was sprinkle cinnamon over the top. I feel it lacked flavor and the top did not set like I thought it would. Next time I will use less of the syrup from the peaches.
