I tried this dish in a restaurant once and loved it, so I wanted to try making it on my own. Getting those onions nice and caramelized for this dish is so, so important. Also, I did read that this dish traditionally has cumin and cinnamon in it (as other reviewers have noted) so I added 1 tbsp. of cumin and 1 tsp. of cinnamon. I think that really helped this dish because it would have been too bland for me otherwise. I definitely recommend eating this with yogurt, that tang makes it oh so, so good. *Note*: if you want to eat this with brown rice, I'd recommend make your brown rice separate from the lentils and then mix it all up in your plate. I'm so happy I finally found a recipe for Mujadarrah. Thanks for sharing!
