Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced or chopped
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (19 ounce) can whole tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (5.5 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 8 hamburger buns

Directions

  1. In large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion and garlic, until meat is browned, stirring frequently.
  2. Add cereal, seasonings, tomatoes with juice, and tomato paste. Stir to combine, cutting tomatoes into pieces with spoon. Cover and simmer over low heat about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on toasted buns.

This recipe as stated doesn't have enough spices to it to mellow out the tomato paste flavor....

After reading that it was "too tomatoey", I cut back the whole peeled tomatoes to a 14.5 oz...
