Original Recipe Yield 24 squares

Ingredients

1 (14 ounce) package caramels
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
2 tablespoons milk
6 cups KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* cereal

Directions

Unwrap caramels and place in large microwaveable glass bowl. Add butter and milk. Microwave++ at HIGH 3-4 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring after each minute.
Add cereal and vanilla, stirring until evenly coated.
Press evenly into lightly-buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9-inch) pan. Let stand until firm. Cut into bars.
