2 1/2 cups
boiling juice (Do not add cold water.)
2 (6 ounce) packages
or 4 (3 ounce) packages JELL-O Brand Gelatin, any flavor
Ok, my kids are now 16 and almost 14 but I used to make these with them all the time when they were little guys..... here is what we would do: We would line the pan with plastic wrap (we had some very wide commercial size that would line the entire 9 x 13 and extend over the edges). When we lined it we would make sure that there were no creases and it was smooth. Pour the jello mixture in. After the jello set up we would just lift the plastic wrap out of the pan and then cut our shapes out on the counter. This alleviated many tears from previous attempts to remove the shape from the pan and the shape tearing. If I didn't have the wrap I would use a spatula to get them out which worked next best. With the pieces that were left we would make "jello snow mountains". We would put the jello in a parfait glass (this was the mountain) and top with cool-whip (which represented snow). I have to admit that I made this recipe again last month when my oldest had his wisdom teeth out, only this time there weren't any little helpers with me cutting out shapes, sad. But, the jello is super tasty with the juice! Thanks!~
My kids love these. We cut out letters and numbers and eat them in ABC or 123 order to help them learn the alphabet and count. There are so many things you can do, and they taste great at any age.
