This recipe does taste just like the poppers!! I baked it in the oven and mixed an italian cheese mix with bread crumbs and it was so tasty! I'll be making this again.

this is the best ever!! tastes exactly like a popper. I added 2 fresh jalapenos to the canned. added a heaping spoonful of sour cream also seaved with toasted french. Great kick, but not painful! I could eat that all day. YUMMY!

I took this to a 4th of July picnic. OMG! everyone went crazy for it! I followed some of the other reviewers suggestions- omitting the green chilies, adding 4 fresh jalapenos finely diced to the jarred, used 1/2 cup mayo and 1/2 cup sour cream, substituted shredded Mexican blend cheese for the Parmesan. I topped the dip with 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs that I mixed with melted butter. I served the dip with thinly sliced baguette slices (that I drizzled with olive oil, dash of garlic salt, and toasted in the broiler) and Triscuit Thin Crisps. The Triscuits were the preferred dipper!! Everyone said that it tasted just like a jalapeno popper! One friend said he'd eat this off a bumper! So delicious! Thank you Denise, for the great recipe!!

Great recipe. I added 1 cup of mexican blend cheese and 2 4-oz. cans of jalapenos for some extra kick. I also topped the dish with a sprinkle of parm cheese before baking it. Everyone loved it. It's truly addictive.

Dip is awesome, every one loved it and asked me to make it for another party. The only thing I did was add less of the caned jalapeno peppers. It was just right. And the next day what was left ( not much) was hotter yet.

I actually served it cold and it went over so well at a party recently! I missed the part about serving with bread so I used Club and Ritz crackers. Because of its success and the fact that it's very easy to make, I'm making it again for another party this coming weekend.

Delicious! I love how this recipe makes a HUGE batch. I split it up into two dishes; baked one, froze the other... But when everyone inhaled the first half I had to heat up the rest. So good!

This recipe is just way too easy to get such rave reviews! Everyone absolutely loves this spread. I use the full 4 oz. can of jalapenos though (sometimes another whole can, depending on the crowd...) and I definitely recommend doing the panko crumbs mixed w/the parmesan on top and baked in a 350°oven for about 30 mins. This stuff goes like crazy!! I also agree that toasted french bread slices are the best way to go to really get that "popper" taste.

Talk about a winner! And I have NEVER eaten a REAL jalapeno popper in my life!(never expect to either when I can have this) Found the recipe here and was feeling adventurous-that and an office party I was tired of taking the same old stuff to!)I actually miscalculated and added more jalapenos and everyone (including me) loved it. Now I can make this stuff in my sleep!! Every time I take it to any function,it is gone within minutes and I am always asked for the recipe.I have never came across anyone who doesn't like it.So this MUST be wonderful! Thanks!!

Yum, I mixed in some cheese blend and cut out the parm. Topped with panko crumbs. This was great! I cut the recipe in half and ended up eating half of it for lunch today. Thx for a great recipe ;)

So delicious! I added some breadcrumbs with the parmesan on top but kept everything else the same. It was so good! We had it with tortilla chips.

UNBELIEVABLE!! Absolutely fattening, but worth it! The only thing I did differently was adding about 3/4 of a cup of shredded mozzerella cheese to the spread before baking. I served it with toasted slices of french bread. YUMMY!

A Keeper. Excellent recipe as is. I did add extra peppers for our taste, we like things spicer but other than that left the recipe alone and everyone enjoyed it. Wonderful taste and so much easier than stuffing and handling the peppers. I usually have all the items on hand so throwing together for the unexpected is going to make this a go to recipe in my box.

I know it's not fair to rate a recipe once you've modified it, but the reality is I love to cook and I can never follow a recipe as is. I read so many responses and took from them what I thought would turn out to be yummy. I did like so many, 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 mayo, that combo never fails. I also added about 4 oz. of sharp cheddar cheese into the mixture, an absolute MUST. I did the parmesan cheese/panko topping. It was really fine without it. I think my parmesan was too authentic, it didn't melt well quickly, so it sort of came up as a whole piece when on low broil. I pulled it off and the dip alone was fine. I'd probably skip out on the parmesan topping next time. And yes, use a toasted italian bread or pita crisps. A definate re-maker.

I made this for the first time last week for a pot luck, made it again three days later for Father's day, everyone LOVED this recipe, they could not get enough.Came back to work today and all of my coworkers kept asking for the recipe. This is FABULOUS!!! I always get my recipes from this website and this recipe has by far had the best reviews. Consensus from work and at my BBQ is that the dip is best with warm bread, honestly though when we ran out of that people were using anything they could get their hands on to dip in it. Followed other reviews did 1/2 cup mayo,1/2 sour cream, added cheddar cheese to the mixture, topped with bread crumbs and parmesan cheese then sprayed with butter flavored pam and baked for 30 mins. This dip will be what I take everywhere from now on. THANK YOU SO MUCH DENISE!!!:)
