Directions

  1. Combine tomatoes, tomato paste, meatballs and pepper strips in CROCK-POT® slow cooker.
  2. Cook on LOW setting for 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH setting for 4 to 6 hours.

I only had one can of diced tomatoes, so I added a can of V-8 that I happened to have on hand. Also, I added some dried Italian seasoning, and a touch of red pepper flakes, and served it under whole wheat penne. Hearty and tasty, great to come home to!

So incredibly fast, easy and delicious. This recipe called for frozen meatballs, so I dashed down to Safeway to buy some and decided to just cook them instead of following the tedious recipe. Thank you allrecipes!!

I didn't have any frozen meatballs on hand so I made some from scratch using some random meat products, spices, and fresh vegetables. I also didn't have any frozen vegetables so I had to use fresh.

Wonderful dish. I added onions and used fresh peppers. I also used red, yellow and orange peppers. Great dish, kids loved it

I took this to a potluck at work and people raved about it! I did find large frozen meatballs at the store, and everyone thought they were homemade. I skipped the pepper strips but did add a dash of red pepper flakes and a tablespoon of sugar to the sauce. Perfect!
