Fry Bread Tacos II

A yummy twist to an old favorite. The frybread makes the difference. It's a popular request at my house. I do up everything but the frybread in advance, and just heat up before serving. Leftover frybread can be used as dessert - coat it with cinnamon and sugar, and drizzle with honey.

Easy-to-make fry bread needs just two ingredients, self-rising flour and buttermilk. Top the golden brown fried breads with a spicy ground beef and bean mixture, then garnish with your favorite taco trimmings.

I grew up on these tacos and thought they were a staple in all households. I also make these with chorizo and add diced cooked potatoes sprinkled with chili powder. My mom used her own flour recipe for the dough but I like this way because it's much quicker!! There is some prep time, but well worth it.

I'm from San Diego and these taste just like home! Chunks of cod are fried in a beer batter, and served in corn tortillas with shredded cabbage and a zesty white sauce. Serve with homemade pico de gallo, and lime wedges to squeeze on top!
