I loved the mixture of basic ingredients and the easy of preparation, but Denis and I weren't particularly keen on the sauce. However, the recipe in question does make a perfectly good starting point for stew-related experimentation.

We tried this recipe for the first time three weeks ago and it is what the fiance asks for now every week! We love the contrast between the sweet and savory. Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Pretty good but I made some changes. I left out fresh onions and instead of water, I used french onion soup to give it more flavor. I still added the sugar and soy sauce but next time I will leave out the soy sauce.

This was a very simple homemade dish that my husband and 2year old loved! A great dish for a fall chilly day. I served this meal with crusty bread and added this recipe to my rotation! Awesome!
