Super sweet treat when your watching calories and want to maintain a healthy diet. I did substitute the oil with unsweetened apple sauce and added a touch of honey, a shake of pumpkin pie spice and half a scoop of my whey protein shake powder. Toddler did not like them but everyone else did!

I always have a batch of these in my freezer. Over time, I have adapted the recipe to include more nutritional value by deleting the oil entirely and adding pureed vegetables (sweet potato, squash, carrot, etc.). For a special treat, I omit dates and add dark chocolate chunks or coconut.

I made these with quick oats, chopped figs instead of dates (didn't have dates), peanutbutter instead of oil (great flavor), added 1/2 cup chopped semi sweet chocolate, and 1/2 cup chopped peanuts (to boost the peanut flavor.) Even with the additional ingredients, batter held together well. I formed them into 30 flat, round cookies and baked for 20 min. Nice banana flavor, not overpowering. Nice cookie to make for vegan company!

What a simple, awesome recipe! I no longer need to buy granola bars at the store! I used applesauce instead of oil, quick oats instead of rolled oats (I ran out of rolled oats) and added some milk chocolate chips and a few raisins. My kids LOVED these!!!! I only made one batch in case they didn't like them, but looks like I will be making a triple batch tonight! Am also going to make them as bars in my stoneware sheet pan. Thanks so much for the recipe!

I didn't really like these... but if I'm going to eat cookies, I want them to be sweet, and these were not. However, all my "healthy friends" LOVED them! They are a great treat if you are trying to eat something healthy... but far from a cookie!

I love these cookies as an healthy alternative to just making banana bread from yet again. I usually just replace the oil with applesause and add cinnamon but a variation I make sometimes is to replace the oil with peanut butter and add a cup of flaked coconut. Yummy!

I liked this recipe since it was so easy, I modified a few things: added cinnamon and some sugar, added 3/4 cup of mini chocolate chips instead of dates. I am also going to try this recipe with apple sauce instead of banana to make it apple cinnamon flavor and see what happens :)

used dried cherries instead of dates, added chopped pecans, applesauce instead of oil. Felt good about giving these to my granddaughter and eating them myself. Healthy and yummy!
