Super yummy, and the perfect treat for a cold day! Made a couple of minor changes...I mixed the meat with the seasoning and bread crumbs a couple of hours ahead of time and let the mixture sit in the fridge so the flavours couple develop more. Also added some minced garlic, smoked paprika and a couple drops of hot sauce to the mix. I always make sure to cook a tiny bit of the hamburger mixture and taste it ahead of time to make sure the seasoning is right.... I highly recommend doing so, then you can make sure it's perfectly seasoned and adjust as needed before you go and cook the whole batch of meat.
I browned the patties and then removed them from the pan, and then cooked the onions until they were very well browned. It gave the gravy a very rich onion flavour. Didn't have any cooking sherry so I just left that out. Added a couple dashes of Worcestershire to the gravy, and needed a bit of extra beef broth as it was a little thick for my liking. Served it with garlic rice and roasted veggies. It was delicious!
