I got rave reviews from my friends for this cake, but I personally didn't love it. The cake part was a little too dry for my taste, but maybe that's just what goes with the icing. I used 2 9-inch round pans and regular flour because that's what I had, baking around 40 minutes. The icing, though, was delicious. Per reviews, I made 1 1/2, toasting pecans and coconut. I skipped the shortening, microwaving the chocolate for 30 seconds at a time until melted, put in a plastic bag, cut a bit off the tip to drizzle a lattice on top. I couldn't get the icing to stick to the sides, so I just put it in between the tiers and then on top.
