Directions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir garlic in melted butter until just browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Pour chicken broth into the saucepan; add quinoa and stir. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.
  3. Remove saucepan from heat and rest mixture 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.

Delicious! I opted to roast a whole head of garlic and just add it to the quinoa/ chicken broth mixture instead of sauteing the garlic. The whole family loved it!

Made this for lunch, but cut it back to 2 servings. My first time having quinoa, i used lactose free margarine and my own chicken broth. I added peas for color. I Really liked it, my husband not so much. Guess it's not for everyone. Even though i found it took 5 minutes more to cook i gave it 5 stars cause its easy and tasty. Thank you for this recipe, i will be making it again.

We absolutely loved this recipe. My husband does not like to try new things, but when I saw this recipe had garlic, I thought maybe there was a chance he'd try it. He took three helpings!! I used minced garlic from a jar, and it was VERY garlicy (just the way I like it) but I can see that it may be too much for garlic "likers", not "lovers". I used the mixed Quinoa which gave it some added colour.

I made quinoa for the first time and I love garlic so I used this recipe. I also added a little chopped onion, yellow squash and a can of drained chunk chicken for protein. I was on my lunch break when I cooked it! Super easy and delicious.

Instead of butter, I use olive oil to saute the garlic. Also added some diced onion and saute with the garlic.

Full of flavor and totally awesome!! Had it with baked shrimp. Definitely a keeper!

This is my second time trying quinoa. First time was awful, but I decided to give it another shot with this recipe, definitely the right choice. My husband and I couldn't get enough of this! Can't wait to have it again! I do agree with another reviewer that it took an extra 5 minutes to cook.

This was exceptional, and I don't usually eat quinoa. Made it exactly as written.
