I made this tonight and it was delicious, but I had to make some changes due to some pantry limitations. I used crushed up French's Onions instead of bread crumbs, a Mexican mixture of cheese, and had to go half and half on the butter with olive oil. It stayed pretty crispy (on top) with the onion mixture.
