So last night the girls and I made this. I'am not sure where we went wrong, we measured everything out & followed directions carefully. It was too dry and crumbley we couldn't get it to stick together to make gingerbread men. So instead we made regular cookies. They came out looking funny but the taste was fantastic, real spicy & delicious.

The dough was horrible to work with. No matter how much flour I added, it just fell apart. I definitely need to find a better gingerbread recipe than this one.

Loved this recipe, did change and rating based on the fact that I substituted Splenda for the sugar and they came out fabulous. So for those who have family with sugar issues and need a recipe that adapts well to Splenda..definitely a keeper! Great taste and texture, just like they should be!!

these cookies have the perfect amount of spice! (If you like them *really* spicy, x2 the spices)(refrigerate the dough!)

This should be the ONLY gingerbread cookie recipe in the entire world! Yup.....that's how good they are! I love gingerbread and every time I make these they go so fast it reminds me of that old poem about "you can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man"!! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!!

This recipe makes good cookies but the dough is absolutely terrible to work with. I've made it twice now and both times I've had to knead A LOT of flour into it before it was much more than a fluffy paste. I wont be making these again.

This is the best gingerbread cookies recipe I have every tried. The spices balance so well not one ingredient over power another. The only thing I will change is reduce sugar to 1/4 cup. It is too sweet for my taste specially with icing. This will be the gingerbread cookies recipe for me.
