Original recipe makes 7 dozen cookies Change Servings


  1. In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, EAGLE BRAND®, lemon juice, lemon rind and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture; mix well. Divide dough into 3 balls. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. On lightly floured surface, roll each ball out to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.
  4. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Garnish with Lemon Drizzle (optional). Store leftovers covered at room temperature.
  5. Lemon Drizzle: Combine confectioners' sugar, water and lemon juice; mix well. Drizzle over cooled cookies.

These are best if rolled in powdered sugar (10X Sugar)

this was not the best recipe i've ever used. the dough turned out way to sticky. not sure who's to blame here, me or the recipe, but i have other recipes i will fall back on next time.

I thought these cookies would be sooo yummy and delicious because of the sweetened condensed milk but as it turns out, I think that the recipe had too much flour. The turned out kind of chalky. Especially after having to use more flour when rolling out the dough. Next time, I will omit some of the flour.
