The dogs are going crazy for these cookies. I had some leftover scraps from a roast. I boiled them to make a broth and used that + the chopped scraps for the boiling water and beef bouillon. I will definitely be making these again.

My dogs loved these!! They were circling me like sharks. I did make some changes. Instead of the bouillon cubes (thought they had too much salt and msg) I used 1 jar of chicken and rice baby food. And I omitted the milk but only b/c I didn't have any. Luckily the baby food added the extra moisture and they turned out perfect! I also happened to have bone shaped cookie cutters. I will definitely make these again...next time I think I'll add peanut butter too! thanks for the recipe. =) and my dogs thank you too!

my pooch loves these. I replaced the cornmeal with wheat bran, because I didn't have any. I also replaced the margarine with canola oil. The only reason I gave these 4 stars instead of 5 is because they lack nutrients. If I make them again, I will probably add grated veggies or meat.

I made these with peanut butter instead of the cheese and the dogs went nuts for them. I want to try a different flavor the next time. This is a great recipe for beginners like me. I did burn a few but my dogs didn't care.

These treats were so easy & fun to make. My dog & his friends go nutso over them & I appreciate that I always have everything on hand to whip them up. I look forward to making these at Christmas for gifts & trying the peanut butter version as well.

These were great! I gave some to every dog owner I know and all the dogs loved them! Since then, I've modified the recipe a little to help put weight on our Alaskan Malamute, Kody. (Poor guy was only 49lbs when we adopted him in April!) I now add 1 scoop of protein shake mix, a couple tablespoons of peanut butter, a couple tablespoons of bacon grease, and a couple of cheap hot dogs cut up into small pieces. With the my modified version I also cut the corn meal in half and add a splash more milk when needed. I quickly learned to freeze all but a dozen or so at a time after having a batch get moldy on me. Once frozen, they keep for months!
