Creamy Italian Sausage Manicotti

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cook manicotti as directed on package, omitting salt. Meanwhile, brown crumbled sausage in large skillet with onions; drain.
  3. Drain manicotti. Add ricotta, basil and Romano to sausage mixture; mix well. Carefully stuff manicotti with sausage mixture.
  4. Spread 1 cup pasta sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; top with manicotti and remaining sauce. Cover.
  5. Bake 20 minutes or until heated through. Top with Mozza Cheese; bake, uncovered, 10 minutes or until melted.

  • How to Fill Manicotti Shells:
  • Spoon filling into large resealable plastic bag. Use scissors to cut large corner from bottom of bag. Fill manicotti shells by squeezing the sausage mixture into both ends of each shell.

This is absolutely delish!! Only thing was, couldn't find Romano cheese at our neighborhood store so we subbed it with asiago cheese. 2 thumbs up!

My girlfriend was in the mood for Italian, so I made this dish for her. Turned out great! Very important to not break the shells when boiling them and stuffing them.
