I followed the review marked ***IMPORTANT**** and am so glad I did! I almost used my usual tub-butter and think I would have been disappointed. One note of advice, use the electric mixer and whip the heck out of it! Be patient because it takes a bit to "look like whip cream" but it will get there. Also the flavor was great!

increase the flour to 5 Tablespoons, and make sure to whisk like crazy to prevent lumps! Also, cook until really really thick.

Thanks to Carol's recipe and Justme's tips this is my go-to frosting recipe - I wouldn't use anything else! It's light, creamy and not too sweet/sugary. Definitely a frosting you could eat with a spoon and not feel ill. I rushed the process once and got a "skin" on the top of my cooled milk/flour mixture which didn't blend in to the rest of the mixture and made it lumpy. My fault. Follow justme's tips and this will be your new favorite frosting, too!

ugh I dont know what I did wrong but my attempt at "frosting" ended up looking like oatmeal :( now I have two dissapointed toddlers and have to make a trip to the grocery store. I do not reccomend this recipe

I was a little nervous, as I was trying to hurry & make a quick but good frosting, with no real time, for my brother's B-Day. and then saw the review of the one who did not like it, and she was doing a b-day cake to. SOOOOOOOOO gald I did it! I loved it. I will be making this alot. Thank you so much.

This is such a great frosting! I have been making this all my life and is a treasured recipe. It was passed down to me from my now deceased mom who called this frosting Poor Man's Whipped Cream.

I don't know what I did wrong; made it twice and turned out curdled and ugly. I also tried to write with it. It didn't work out. The flavor and all is ok, but for appearances, I couldn't get it to work out real well
